Metadata Playground
Select File evidence in the Playground, scan an original image or PDF, and read observations, coverage, Content Credentials, and the SCU receipt.
The Playground calls the Metadata focus File evidence. The choice appears when it is available for your organization.
Run a file
- Open the Playground and select Images or Documents. Use Documents for PDF.
- Under What to inspect, select File evidence. The Playground selects secure analysis for this focus.
- Upload the original JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, classic TIFF, HEIF, or PDF. You can also choose Try sample image for a synthetic JPEG with a time conflict and size mismatch, or load the PDF sample.
- Run the scan. One file is scanned per run.
The text tab cannot run File evidence. If the selected file is unsupported, the Playground asks for another format before the run. The scan is synchronous, so keep the result returned by the run rather than polling for it by scan ID.
Read the result
The result shows file observations and Content Credentials separately. Read the reported limits on inspection first. A missing claim may mean the collector did not inspect the part of the file that could carry it. The Playground's Simple PDF view shows each page's notable evidence or coverage gap; Detailed adds page geometry, referenced image streams, and available child observations.
The result also shows NO_DECISION and the SCU charge. A contradiction between two unsigned claims is a reason to inspect the file and its case context. It is not an instruction to allow or block the file.
Use the API
The scan API reference shows the secure, synchronous request and the response fields.
